Paint Shop wrap vs vinyl wrap: what each one actually changes

They share the word "wrap" and nothing else. One is a PNG that changes how the car looks on its own screen; the other is vinyl applied to the bodywork.

Why the confusion exists

Both are called wraps, both are visual, and the Paint Shop interface shows a car that looks like it has been wrapped. But a Paint Shop PNG never reaches the bodywork: it is a texture on a 3D model inside the car's software.

Choosing

If you want a look you can change on a whim, and you like the idea of a design that costs nothing to try, Paint Shop is the obvious choice. If you want the car itself to change color for years, that is a vinyl decision — and the design you make here is still useful as a proof before you pay an installer.

Questions

Can I send a Paint Shop design to a vinyl shop?

You can send the artwork, but not the PNG as-is: a plotter needs a print file with bleed and panel splits, not a UV template.

Does a Paint Shop wrap protect the paint?

No. It is a screen texture and has no physical effect.
